Are you planning to take your dog or cat abroad?
To travel in Europe, your pet will need a passport.
Because everyone is unclear about Brexit, we've had lots of clients enquiring about what they need to do...
If you are travelling and returning BEFORE 31st OCTOBER 2019 then you need a standard passport application.
if you are travelling AFTER 31st OCTOBER 2019, then you need to follow a different process, which will involve blood testing.
I, or any of my team, (or your own vet if they are an Official Veterinarian) can issue a passport for your dog or cat, under the Pet Travel Scheme (PETS), which means they can travel freely and won't have to stay in quarantine.
You will need to book a passport consultation with us, and we will go through all the essential requirements.
Your pet will need vaccinations, microchipping and an official PETS passport issued, so you need to make sure that everything is organised well in advance.
We will explain the process of travelling, both for your outward and return journey.
Current government travel guidelines are unchanged, as we are no closer to actually leaving the EU.
Check back here for more information about EU travel as the Brexit process evolves!
If you are planning to travel outside the EU, please get in touch with us as soon as possible, as different countries have different requirements, many require blood tests, import permits and extensive paperwork; so please leave sufficient time to plan your pets travel!
